Chloe + Isabel Giveaway!

Hooray for the weekend!! I feel like I have been MIA all week on my posts but I am back and ready to take on new projects that I've been working on! :)

Some exciting news.. I am now a merchandiser for Chloe + Isabel!
Lately I have been very particular on the type of clothes and jewelry I buy. I've been trying to be more simplistic with my purchases, buying things I know will last me several months or years to come. That being said I truly love the jewelry that Chloe + Isabel has to offer. The quality is amazing. They literally drop the jewelry on the ground to see what needs to be improved. All of the pieces are nickel free, lead free and hypoallergenic. I have very sensitive skin and having not worn earrings for several months and then being able to wear them again feels amazing! Something about a pair of sparkly studs instantly makes me feel more presentable.

Another reason I love their jewelry is for the timeless style of it. These are not trendy pieces that you will get bored of within a few months. This jewelry is meant to last several years (actually there is a lifetime warranty on everything!). This necklace is one of my favorite pieces in the line right now. I prefer a long necklace to a bib necklace any day. The shine of the disks really stands out in the light and makes my plain blue top feel like new!

Here's the best part...
In celebration of the launch of my online boutique I am giving away the necklace I am featuring in this post! :) The winner will choose between the silver or gold version. This is such a great necklace for anyone to have in their collection. It goes with so many pieces and can be layered with smaller, dainty necklaces too.

This giveaway will run until November 5th, winner announced on November 6th!

Fall Whites

Another post with white clothes for fall! I can't help myself ;)

There's something about wearing white that just makes my outfit feel more clean and put together. It's my go to look for days when I'm scrambling to get ready, or when I want to play up an accessory, like this tartan scarf from Juliana's Boutique. Hints of cognac, gold, and plum complete my outfit. I think this was my last day with shellac nails. They were awesome! Definitely would try them out again. I actually removed them myself via the Lauren Conrad way..

& I can't get over how beautiful the trees are in this neighborhood we went to for this mini shoot! The colors of the leaves instantly put me in a better mood when I'm driving around or walking to classes on campus.

My previous post with this scarf was more of a darker look. Which look do you prefer, dark or light?

Transitioning Summer Whites

Today on the blog I'm taking summer whites and transitioning them into a more wearable look for fall. White will always be my go to choice for apparel, no matter the season. When paired with tall boots and gold accents, the white really stands out against the sea of traditional dark colors we normally see during this season. Since my hair is dark I like to wear lighter clothes to contrast against it.
When creating my outfits, I sometimes try and focus around a pop of color. Today's POC is olive! Totally couldn't have guessed that, right? And as far as I'm concerned, gold is a neutral :) This is the first time I've busted out the good ol' riding boots this season and I keep mentally thanking myself for storing them properly during the summer months. Keep a look out for an upcoming video I'll be posting about taking care of your clothes, shoes, and jewelry! :)

Jackson Street

Blanket scarves are everywhere this season. My pinterest has been flooded with so many different colors and styles. I was so stoked to see that Juliana's Boutique carries blanket scarves too! I'm very particular with the fabric my clothes are made from... If something is itchy I either don't buy it or will end up returning it. I can honestly say I love this scarf. I actually need to limit myself on how many times I've been wearing it this week because it's so easy to grab and go! The fabric is so soft and the material is so thick and bulky that it's perfect for the cold and wind we get here in the Midwest.

Plaid State of Mind

Today on Pressing Flowers I'm taking my favorite tartan print shirt and adding hints of gold and green into the outfit. When choosing colors to incorporate into my outfits, sometimes I go with the smallest colors in the pattern or print, and really compliment the whole piece by finding those small details and wearing them in a big way.

If you look closely at the top there are subtle hues of green and yellow stripes mixed into the tartan print. I started with the basics: nude flats and black jeggings. After feeling slightly boyish upon trying the outfit on, I knew I had to incorporate some feminine pieces into the look. This tassel necklace will always be one of my favorite, timeless jewelry pieces. My Lilly P. clutch was purchased at the endless summer sale, and my bracelets are a mix from Dry Goods and Leopard and Latte.

I love dressing in more masculine clothes, but I always have to remember to flatter my figure with body hugging bottoms or a pulled back hairdo and some lipstick. Did you catch anything familiar about this post? This is actually the same top I wore in my layering post last week! Get this flannel top from Juliana's Boutique before they're all sold out! Falling for Tartan

Can it be fall forever? Today's shoot was actually in the neighborhood that my University is located in. I don't even mind walking what feels like a million miles to and from my car because it feels like I'm on the set of Hocus Pocus.

People say there's not much to do in the midwest, but I think we're extremely lucky to be able to experience all four seasons. Fall is always my personal favorite and today's post incorporates my favorite (old and new) trends for fall!

Cozy sweaters, tartan prints, and fringe booties scream autumn when I peer into my wardrobe. This white sweater from Target has been one of those essential pieces that I picked up a few years back. Layering my clothes has been something I love to play around with and this top from Juliana's Boutique has all of the colors I look for in a classic tartan print.

Psst... take 10% off your order from Juliana's Boutique using my special coupon code, "sally"

These jeggings have made numerous appearances in my blog posts. I wore them to its death and when they finally started to wear in the knee I decided to do a little DIY project and distress them! (word to the wise, this project is not for the impatient crafter)

Instagram Roundup

Happy Wednesday! Here's the latest on my Instagram..

New video! I hadn't sat down to record a video in weeks so I decided to do a collective haul of things I had purchased the past month or two. I also mention my favorite Etsy shops for purchasing bow bracelets and bangles :)

Watch it here

I finally got shellac nails! I had put it off for years because my nails were so frail and would split constantly. I had a gift card and have also been taking a hair, skin and nails vitamin the past year so I decided to finally do it! I'm not sure of the exact color or number but it is a very dark purple. I love not having to do my nails every few days!

Another new video! Styling some of my favorite all black pieces for fall.

This photo was reposted by Marshall's! I was over the moon when I had seen that they reposted it to their account.. (basically every blogger's dream)!

Lately my outfits for class have revolved solely around booties and jeans. To add more femininity to this dark outfit I decided to wear a peplum top and some gold jewelry.

My boyfriend was home this weekend! We've both been extremely busy with school so we had a great weekend just hanging out. On Sunday we drove about 30 minutes just to get some apple donuts... but they were totally worth it ;)

Blush and Gold

Ah how I love my neutrals. I recently picked up this gorgeous shirt from Dry Goods and I am SO excited to style it for fall. I have many blouses in this fabric, mostly because of how comfortable they are. I love the look of wearing a loose fitted shirt on top with tighter jeans and boots on bottom. The shade of this shirt is tan, but it is so close to being a blush color. How pretty is this necklace?? I love my long necklaces and the feather detail with gold and brown beading on it is perfect for fall.
As for my accessories I'm wearing these brown booties I purchased at Maurice's during a huge sale they were having - I think I got these babies for $20! I also have a black pair ;)
My bracelet is from Leopard and Latte Boutique, I love that it's stretchy! And of course I picked the gold colored one :) It's still in the high 70s in the Chicago area so I can't quite go all out in fall clothing, but this is a great transitional outfit when you're weather confused like me ;)
