It's Not Easy Being Green

I don't think I've seen this shade of green in stores in a long time. When I saw it at Target I knew it would be perfect for the fall and winter months ahead. The cut is a T-Shirt style, but when tied with the belt, the dress is more form-fitting but still comfy. I also bought this giant purse to fit my laptop and books in. The material seems pretty durable and there is a pocket in the front that I usually slide my phone and keys into.

Fall 2014 Most Wanted Accessories

As the warmer weather starts to fade, I start to bring back many of my accessories and larger tote bags. During the summer I just feel too hot sometimes to accessorize. Now that it's starting to cool off more, I definitely find myself adding more jewelry and lighter layers into my outfits.

This fall I've definitely taken an interest into layering necklaces, especially ones that come already layered for you! Double win! I have a pair of boots just like this DV pair from DSW that I will definitely be styling again this season. I'm starting to transition away from my traditional backpack and have taken a liking to sleek and stylish tote bags for carrying my books and papers.

A great watch never leaves my wrist and I always need a pair of sunglasses while driving to and from class. Here is a breakdown of some of my favorite accessories that I've seen for fall - a few of them have already made their way to my wardrobe already ;)

Necklace - Dry Goods
Watch - Charming Charlie
Hat - Target
Tote - JCPenney
Boots - DSW

Happy fall!!!

In the Navy

September is a strange month for fashion for me. I'm never sure wether to dress in all fall-related clothes or still wear my summery prints. The frigid cold temperatures in my University's classrooms don't help either. For this particular day it was pretty warm, about mid 70s but I knew I'd be freezing inside if I didn't wear pants. Here is where the beauty for 3/4 sleeves and cropped pants save the day. I bought these pants back in the spring but the pixie pant trend still lives on! White after Labor Day is a rule I always break, especially since white is my favorite color ;) I decided to take my bangles for a spin too, contrasting the light blue and navy colors.

To the Market We Go

I have recently just discovered the French Market every Sundays in Geneva. There are some vendors with the best French bakery I've tried since visiting France in 2011. My mom and I picked up some coffee and I bought these beautiful white flowers and a hilarious wallet. These seychelles also remind me of The Great Gatsby (haha!)

Goodnight, Chicago

Bubba Gump's at Navy Pier! I had the frozen mango lemonade :)

Oh how I miss the warmer weather already...
When I think of Fall I usually forget how cold it actually gets here in the midwest. The wind from the lakefront doesn't help either ;)

Today's post is a dressier look as we spent the night in the city celebrating my mom's birthday! We snapped these pictures just before the sun went down. Before we left for the city I was frantically running around trying to find something to wear. I had something picked out beforehand but it just didn't wear right so of course I scrambled until I found a great outfit. Whenever I'm in a rush I usually turn to what I know works best and what will make me feel amazing yet still comfortable. Neutrals are a definite go-to in my book and this outfit definitely explains it all.

I might have to retire these shorts since they're so infamous in my blog posts now ;) I have been so in love with this necklace from Kohl's! It's a great statement piece that's not too overbearing, and the feather-like accents are great for transitioning into fall. Happy Hump Day!

Neon and Gold

I wore this outfit on a date night with my mama! We saw The Hundred-Foot Journey - I loved it!! I love movies about food and this has definitely made my book of favorite movies. Also, Oprah helped direct it and I secretly love Oprah ;) actually it's not a secret.. my friend gave me a framed photo of her for Christmas as a joke.

My clutch is from the Lilly Pulitzer sale! I didn't want to get a print that I'd get bored with, so instead I got this beautiful clutch that I know will last me forever and I can wear it with so many outfits. I am apologizing now because I know it will definitely be in a ton of blog posts ;) sorry!!

Transitioning Summer Pieces into Fall Outfits (& exciting news!)

I don't know about you guys but every year around the beginning of September I start to think about the cooler weather and how I will be transitioning my summer clothes into the colder months ahead. Although it's still blazing hot out, my mind is telling me to dress in fall colors!!

For this outfit I took a signature summer staple - the white dress (c'mon, everyone has one!! It's like an LBD!) and paired it with cooler shades of blues and greens. I've styled this vest from Maurice's so many times the past couple of months it's starting to get ridiculous. I've gotten so much wear out of it though! I love it so much!!

I actually found my bag from my local Plato's Closet a couple of years ago - it's a Steve Madden that I got for $20!!! How crazy is that?!

I went with some no-brainer accessories for this outfit too - cheetah flats, a gold tassel necklace from Kohl's and mirrored aviators (another favorite purchase of the summer)

I also have some very exciting news!!! Head on over to my youtube channel or my Instagram to see what it is :)
